HOW WE HELP

Bringing Hope, Dignity, and Practical Support

Every contribution enables us to bring hope, dignity, and practical support to vulnerable elderly Nigerians. As we grow, we remain committed to developing sustainable programmes that address their most urgent needs.

Food Assistance

No elderly person should have to go hungry. We aim to provide nutritious food parcels, emergency food relief, and essential household items to older adults facing financial hardship.

  • Monthly food packs
  • Emergency hunger relief
  • Basic household essentials

Medical Support

Many elderly people cannot afford routine medical care or life-saving medications. We work to improve access to healthcare through medical outreach, screenings, and referrals.

  • Basic health checks
  • Essential medications
  • Medical consultations and referrals
  • Support for hospital treatment where possible

Emotional Support

Growing older should never mean facing life alone. We seek to promote emotional well-being through companionship, encouragement, and meaningful social interaction.

  • Friendly visits and conversations
  • Emotional encouragement
  • Social activities and support groups

Home Visits

Some elderly people are unable to travel because of age, illness, or disability. Our volunteers plan to visit them at home to assess needs and provide practical support.

  • Home welfare visits
  • Delivery of food and care packages
  • Personal companionship and well-being checks

Advocacy

We believe every older person deserves dignity, protection, and a voice. We are committed to raising awareness and advocating for policies that improve their quality of life.

  • Promote public awareness
  • Champion the rights of older persons
  • Encourage stronger community and government support

Community Engagement

Lasting change happens when communities care for their elderly. We aim to work with local communities, faith groups, businesses, schools, and volunteers.

  • Organise community outreach programmes
  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Build partnerships with local organisations
  • Expand our impact across Nigeria
A note on where we are: Mercy Hands is now an officially registered foundation. These are the programmes we are actively building, starting with the direct, personal support already given quietly for several years.

Together, We Can Make A Difference.

Every donation, large or small, helps us move closer to a Nigeria where every elderly person is cared for, respected, and able to live with dignity.
