A Personal Mission, Now An Official Foundation

Giving Every Elderly Person The Dignity They Deserve.

Touching Lives With Compassion

Across Nigeria, thousands of elderly men and women face poverty, loneliness, neglect, hunger, and limited access to healthcare. Mercy Hands for the Elderly Foundation exists to change that, one person at a time.

OUR STORY

Born From Years Of Quiet Care,
Now Made Official.

Mercy Hands for the Elderly Foundation was founded on the belief that every elderly person deserves dignity, respect, love, and care. Our founder, Ms Yetunde Koleade Adebanjo, was moved by the struggles of older Nigerians facing loneliness, poverty, neglect, and poor health, and chose to act rather than look away.

Through compassionate support, community outreach, healthcare assistance, food relief, emotional care, and advocacy, we are committed to restoring hope and improving the quality of life of vulnerable elderly people, regardless of background, religion, or ethnicity.

Our Beginning

Personal, One-on-One Support

Years of quietly providing direct support to elderly people in need, long before there was ever an organization behind it.

From One Person
To a Registered Foundation

"A society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable. Every elderly person deserves dignity, purpose, and hope."

Mercy Hands Mission
A Note From The Founder

"I've spent years quietly supporting elderly people in my community because I believe every senior citizen deserves to be seen, cared for, and treated with dignity. Mercy Hands is that same commitment, now made official so we can do more, together."

WHY WE EXIST

Because Growing Older Should Never Mean Being Forgotten

Across Nigeria, many older adults who once cared for families and strengthened communities now face poverty, loneliness, poor health, and neglect.

Elder Neglect

Many older Nigerians rely on family for support, but migration, hardship, and weak social systems often leave them without proper care.

Loneliness & Isolation

Loneliness can seriously affect mental and physical health. Shrinking family networks and limited social programmes make isolation worse.

Healthcare Challenges

Ageing often brings chronic health needs, yet many elderly Nigerians cannot afford treatment, medication, or health insurance.

Poverty

Poverty remains a major challenge for older people in Nigeria, leaving many without steady income, good nutrition, or basic care.

How We Help

Every contribution helps us bring hope, dignity, and practical support to vulnerable elderly Nigerians.

Food Assistance

Nutritious food parcels and emergency relief so no elderly person has to go hungry.

Medical Support

Health screenings, medication support, and referrals to healthcare providers.

Emotional Support

Companionship and encouragement so growing older never means facing life alone.

Home Visits

Volunteers visit elders who can't travel, reminding them they are valued and not forgotten.
